Highlights of our final summer getaway include...
1. Discovering pretty fresh bear scat on a secluded nearly overgrown hiking trail then deciding to turn around and head back to where we came from.
2. Spending 4 hours reading old issues of National Geographic and watching mind-numbing Disney channel shows at the Chrysler dealership in Payson, waiting for them to fix our van.
3. Popping Jiffy Pop popcorn over the campfire.
4. Getting attacked by bees (unless you talk to Mike, who, by the way, doesn't know what he is talking about).
5. Having Chesley mistake a squirrel for a skunk. (Thank heavens it wasn't the other way around.)
6. Nearly missing a big ol' honkin' elk.
7. Deciding to keep our dog after all.
8. Sleepin' in until all the birds stopped chirping and the tent started to roast.
9. Talent shows by the campfire, and stargazing on top of the rim.
10. All the kids successfully getting a butterfly rest to on their finger.
11. Eating amazing food.
And...
12. Rediscovering the magic of Narnia & Teribithia just by watching our kids play, and play, and play.
