Our December celebrations always begin with Mike and Colin's birthdays.
On Mike's birthday I took the kids out of school for the morning and we headed over to Mike's school. Armed with pockets full of confetti, we walked into Mike's classroom, yelled "Happy Birthday!", and threw loads of colored paper all over him and his classroom floor. He loved it! I do regret that we didn't have the camera with us to capture the moment. He said that for the rest of the day there were confetti trails leading from his room all over campus. Later, I extended my apologies to his principal, but she was a good sport.
When Mike came home from work that day he was greeted with a driveway full of birthday art, and five happy kids. They really love their Daddy.

Then we celebrated with cake and a movie night. Mike had gotten his birthday presents early, but every year we put together a small skit or a birthday song for him. This year he took video of us, but I cannot get it to upload here. It's our way of honoring the best guy we know, and very Cosby-esque, if I may say so myself.
Happy Birthday Mike!

We celebrated Colin's birthday last year by going to Bounce U. It was our family's first time being there and we had the best night!
I love this picture of Colin, it is so him!

So much climbing and jumping and non-stop fun, we were all exhausted the next day. It was great because we practically had the place to ourselves, there were only a couple other families there, and neither of them stayed as long as us.

We had a crazy fun time, and Colin was thrilled! The best part was, open bounce night was the day before his birthday, so he got to celebrate for two days in a row.

Colin's best gift! (Isn't he an awesome brother?)

Colin's cupcake cake! (Isn't he an awesome kid?!)

This was the sign Colin saw on the garage door when he cam home from school on the bus. It hung in his room for a couple months afterwards.
We couldn't have asked for a better first son! He is so kind and considerate, and one of the best people to spend an afternoon with. He is smart and helpful and extremely good. He is also full of great comedy.
We love you Colin, Happy Birthday!
